South Carolina women's basketball beats Clemson to set program record with 43rd straight win

Wednesday'sCLEMSON — South Carolina women's basketball trounced Clemson 77-45 in Littlejohn Coliseum to achieve 43 straight wins for their program.

Starting cold, the No. 1 Gamecocks (5-0) closed the second quarter with a 17-0 surge and rose 29-17 at halftime. Te-Hina Paopao ended with one 3-pointer and a team-high 13 points. Returning from injury, Tessa Johnson scored eight points—including a 3-pointer at the halftime buzzer.

South Carolina shot 36.8% from the 3-point line and 33-of- 77 from the field taken collectively.

Most likely its toughest game thus far this season, South Carolina flies to California to meet No. 6 UCLA on Sunday (4 p.m. ET, FS1).
